Getting here

How people usually arrive

01

By air into Gqeberha

Chief Dawid Stuurman International is the closest airport, about an hour from Addo. Hire a car at the airport, or ask us about a transfer when you book.

02

By road on the N2

Addo sits just off the N2, which makes it the natural first or last stop on a Garden Route trip. Colchester Suites is the closest to the highway.

03

Off a cruise ship

Gqeberha harbour is a regular stop, and a day in Addo is the most common shore excursion. Tell us your ship and docking times.

04

Once you are here

Safari collection is available from Homestead, Beyond Cui Bono, The Silos and the Farmstall. Contact us to confirm collection arrangements for your accommodation.

When to visit

Addo through the year

Is there a bad time of year?
Addo can be visited throughout the year. Rain can fall in any season, and wildlife viewing varies with the weather and conditions.
How cold does it get?
Open vehicles can feel chilly, especially early in the morning and in winter. Bring a warm layer even in the warmer months.
How many days should we stay?
We suggest two nights for an unhurried park visit, or three if you want to add a private reserve. Choose what fits your plans.
Is it malaria-free?
Yes. SANParks describes Addo as a malaria-free area. Pack insect repellent for comfort.
Do we need a 4x4?
A normal car suits the park's main tourist routes in suitable conditions. Safari pickup is included within our 15 km area around Addo.
