Addo & Schotia Full-Day Safari
Eleven hours, two reserves and the widest range of species in a single day, with a roosterbrood lunch and a boma dinner in between.
The most species you can see in one day
If you only have one day and want to see as much as possible, this is the one we recommend. It covers both Addo Elephant National Park and Schotia Private Game Reserve, and between them they hold a far wider range of species than either does alone.
The morning is spent exploring Addo, with plenty of time to look for its famous elephant herds and other wildlife. Lunch is a traditional roosterbrood meal at the Travel Addo Farmstall, freshly prepared in our own kitchen.
From there, we continue to Schotia for the afternoon safari, where there is a chance to see lion, giraffe, hippo, rhino and more. Dinner is served at the Schotia Boma before the drive back to Addo, which becomes part of the experience as night settles in.
At around eleven hours, it is a full day, but it is also one of the most complete safari experiences we offer in the area.
How the day runs
A long day, shaped by gate times and what is being seen. Your guide confirms collection the evening before.
Collection and into Addo
From the Homestead, The Silos, Beyond Cui Bono or the Farmstall, then straight into the national park for the elephant herds.

Roosterbrood lunch at the Farmstall
A traditional lunch at our own Travel Addo Farmstall. It is included, and a real break in the middle of a long day.

Across to Schotia
Onto private land for lion, giraffe, hippo and rhino, plus species you will not see in the national park.

Dinner in the Schotia Boma
A home-cooked South African dinner in the boma before the drive home.

Back to Addo after dark
Return to Addo after dinner as night settles over the valley.
